Mayor Teresa Isaac addressed the 14th Annual Bluegrass Tomorrow Board of Director’s meeting on March 18. In her remarks she stated that she was “very interested in regional planning and helping Lexington’s neighbors in the region.” She said that she would ensure that her administration understands the regional impacts of Lexington’s planning decisions. Mayor Isaac also hopes to make regional planning for infrastructure more prominent. In doing so, she will guarantee that all communities are fairly represented in all regional planning activities.
Locally, one of her top priorities will be the promotion of infill and redevelopment projects within Lexington. These are the types of projects, she said, that will ensure the success of the Purchase of Development Rights Program. These projects will also increase the tax base, reduce traffic, and add vibrancy to the city. Mayor Isaac closed her remarks by promising to work more closely with Bluegrass Tomorrow in our efforts to make a great region.
